Buggy accident kills woman, leaves husband critical

ATHENS (WKOW) -- A 73-year-old woman was killed after her buggy collided with a pickup truck near Athens, Wisconsin.

Her 71-year-old husband is in critical condition.

The Marathon County Sheriff's office says Daniel Beiler, of rural Athens, was driving the buggy with his wife.

The crash happened just after 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Town of Johnson.

A preliminary investigation indicates the buggy may have failed to stop at a stop sign or failed to yield.

The driver of the pickup was not hurt.
