Posted:

ADAMS COUNTY (WKOW) -- The Adams County Sheriff's Office says two of its deputies have returned to full duty following a fatal shooting earlier this month.

Authorities say deputies confronted an armed subject outside of his residence in the Town of Preston on September 5. A sheriff's deputy fired his weapon and fatally wounded 41-year-old Douglas Natzke.

Officials say Deputy Jeremiah Ballew fired the gun. He has been placed on light administrative duty while the Department of Justice-Division of Criminal Investigation completes their investigation.

Deputy Todd Johnson and Deputy Jonathan Lewicki were also there at the time of the shooting. Both of them have returned to full duty.

Officials say no other information about the incident is being released at this time.
