
GRANT COUNTY (WKOW) – A 62-year-old Muscoda man was found dead after his vehicle struck a tree Friday morning
The Grant County Sheriff's Department responded to a call around 7:20 a.m. to a vehicle in the ditch along Highway 133 between Boscobel and Blue River.
The Wisconsin State Patrol responded to the call and found a 1999 Dodge Dakota truck that had been traveling eastbound on HWY 133 was in the ditch and had struck a tree.
Authorities said the only occupant in the vehicle was deceased on arrival. Officials identified the man as Melvin L Poole of Muscoda, Wisconsin.
The cause of the accident has been ruled medical. Neither alcohol nor speed appeared to be a factor in the accident. Officials said seatbelts were used and airbags did deploy in the vehicle.
Assisting at the scene were Grant county Sheriff's Department, Boscobel Police, Boscobel Fire, Boscobel EMS and Grant County Coroner's Office.
