Coffee drinkers help support cancer research

MADISON (WKOW) -- The Madison area was blessed with great weather Saturday morning, and that led to a good crowd and brisk sales at the Steep & Brew booth at the Dane County Farmers' Market on Capitol Square.

Steep & Brew partnered with WKOW again this Saturday, as they do on multiple Saturdays during the outdoor market season, to raise money for charity.

27 News anchor John Beard worked at the booth for an hour, from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m., and all money made from coffee sales during that hour went to the charity of John's choice. He chose for the money to go to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

Proceeds from that hour totaled $421.

Next weekend, 27 News meteorologist Brian Olson will be working at the Steep & Brew booth, again from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m., when he will help raise money for Heartland Farm Sanctuary.
