LA CROSSE (WKOW) – La Crosse police are looking for suspects involved in the shooting death of a father and son in a photography store on Saturday.
Captain Robert Lawrence said the homicides occurred about 2 p.m. Saturday, around the same time a photography class at May's Photo ends and the store closes.
According to the La Crosse Tribune, the family members identified the victim as 56-year-old Paul Petras and his 19-year-old son A.J. Petras.
Lawrence said that the police had no arrests on Saturday. No one immediately returned a call from The Associated Press Sunday for an update.
According to newspaper archives, Paul Petras ran the shop started by his father. They formerly had a store in Winona, Minnesota.
A.J Petras was a 2011 graduate of Aquinas High School and a member of the ski team.
Friends of the younger Petras say they're trying to focus on his life and the kind of person he was.
"He was probably one of the nicest guys I know," said Chad Coleman. "Really generous. He once bought all of us concert tickets to see a show in Madison 'cause he knew we couldn't afford it."
