Motorcyclist dead after crash

JANESVILLE (WKOW) -- A motorcyclist was ejected from a motorcycle and pronounced dead after a crash.

The Janesville Police Department responded to a report of a one-vehicle accident involving a motorcycle on Ruger Avenue about 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

The motorcyclist was traveling westbound on Ruger Avenue when the driver struck a stationary piece of construction equipment parked along the curb in the westbound lanes of traffic.

The motorcyclist was ejected from the motorcycle. The driver was transported to Mercy Hospital and Trauma Center. It's not known yet if speed or alcohol were factors in the crash. The driver of the motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet.

The identity of the motorcyclist is not being released until the family is notified.
