
TOWN OF SPRING GROVE (WKOW) – Three individuals were taken to the hospital after a three vehicle crash Friday afternoon.
Authorities responded to the accident about 3:52 p.m. on STH 11 at STH 81/CTH GG in the Town of Spring Grove.
Officials said the investigation revealed that Martinez G. Cruz, 27-year-old of Monroe, was turning westbound onto STH 11 from STH 11 when he lost control of his in the intersection. The Cruz vehicle was hit by an eastbound semi operated by Daniel R. Lawinger, 46-year-old of Monroe. Cruz's vehicle rolled east into a vehicle being operated by Jennifer A. Newcomer, 27-year-old of Monroe.
Authorities said Cruz, Newcomer, and Newcomer's 10-month-old passenger were transported from the scene by EMS for injuries sustained in the crash. Lawinger reported injuries but declined EMS.
Officials said Cruz, Newcomer and Lawinger reported seatbelt use. Newcomer said her passenger was in a child safety seat. There was no airbag deployment in each of the vehicles involved.
The Cruz vehicle and the Newcomer vehicle were towed from the scene. Lawinger's semi was driven from the scene.
Authorities said Cruz will be cited for operating while suspended and further citations are pending.
