TOWNSHIP OF SPRING GROVE (WKOW) -- Seven people are hurt in a multiple vehicle crash Sunday afternoon in Green County.
Sheriff's deputies responded to Highway 11 and Mount Hope Road in the Township of Spring Grove just before 2:00 p.m. Sunday.
Investigators say 88-year-old John Kohn, of Freeport, Illinois, was driving east on Highway 11 and attempting to turn when a vehicle operated by 24-year-old Amanda Swedlund, of Juda, rear-ended Kohn's vehicle and pushed it into traffic. Kohn's vehicle crashed with a car driven by 62-year-old George Burris, of Shullsburg.
John Kohn and his passenger, 80-year-old Joann Kohn, of Freeport were both taken to Janesville's Mercy Hospital with injuries.
The vehicle driven by Swedlund had seven people in it. All were wearing seatbelts and children had proper restraints, but some of them did have injuries. Amanda Swedlund was taken to Monroe Clinic Hospital, as well as her passengers, Christopher J. Swedlund, Jessica E. Pepper, 25, of Forest Grove, Montana, Briliey L. Swedlund, 6, Brendon A Pepper, 6. Two other passengers, ages two and two months, were not hurt.
George Burris and his passenger, Wendy L. Burris, 63, of Shullsburg, were not hurt.
Amanda Swedlund got a ticket for Inattentive Driving. The crash is still under investigation by the Green County Sheriff's office and the Wisconsin State Patrol.
