The Burnett County Sheriff's Department says Jenna Danish and Thomas Jay Williams turned themselves in around noon Sunday. Prosecutors filed charges against the two Friday. They're charged with felony child neglect resulting in death.
Their daughter, Reena Williams, went missing from her home outside of Danbury in August. She was found wandering once, returned home, and then went missing again. A massive search was launched and Reena was eventually found dead in a canal about 25 yards from her home.
The criminal complaint claims there was drug use in the home and a pattern of neglecting the girl. A witness told police he smoked synthetic marijuana with Thomas Jay Williams just minutes before Reena went missing.
Williams and Danish are due in court again next month. The charges carry a maximum penalty of 25 years in prison if they're convicted.
