Edgewater Hotel to layoff employees

Posted:

MADISON (WKOW) -- Approximately 65 Edgewater Hotel employees will be out of a job come the end of November.

The Department of Workforce Development says the Madison hotel is temporarily closing down, but for a long period of time for redevelopment of the hotel.

The employees affected as part of the closure will be terminated around November 19.

The DWD says they will provide assistance to any of those employees who wish to get help.

The $98 million redevelopment project is expected to be finished by late Spring of 2014.
