MADISON (WKOW) -- University of Wisconsin-Madison police say a student has been arrested for stealing from campus dorm rooms.
UW-Madison police say they identified Nicholas Suarez as a person of interest in thefts from student rooms in Cole and Sellery Hall.
Police spoke with Suarez who confessed to committing the crimes.
Officials say Suarez is a UW-Madison student, but he does not live in university housing.
Suarez was booked into the Dane County Jail. UW-Madison police are requesting charges from the Dane County District Attorney's Office for Burglary, Theft, and Disorderly Conduct.
UW-Madison police want to remind students to use personal safety measures to protect themselves and their property. Students should keep their dorm rooms locked, and should not let people into the residence halls who they do not know.
