MADISON (WKOW) -- Monona Terrace was the site of Saturday's 2nd annual Co-op Connection: A Celebration of Cooperatives and Community", sponsored by Summit Credit Union.
It was a free event featuring local bands, kids' activities, prize drawings and free product samples.
More than 20 cooperatives were represented, in industries from energy to martial arts to yoga.
"It's a way to celebrate cooperatives and that business model that's growing and flourishing in this area," said Summit Credit Union President/CEO Kim Sponem. "And so we thought we'd bring them all together and celebrate the cooperative principles."
October is Co-op Month. Organizers of the event say they want to enhance awareness about local, member-owned/member-controlled businesses
