MAUSTON (WKOW) – An Adams man is charged with homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle in a July boat crash on Castle Rock Lake that left one person dead.
According to the Wisconsin State Journal, if 22-year-old Christopher Collins is convicted, he could possibly face 25 years in prison.
The boat crash killed 23-year-old Michael Miklavicic of Friendship.
The complaint said Collins was driving a boat with four passengers when he struck a rock. Authorities said Collins told a deputy he heard someone yell a warning and unsuccessfully tried to steer around a bridge support. Collins said he had four or five beers before the crash. Authorities said his blood alcohol level was 0.13 percent.
A message left at the office of Collins' attorney on Sunday was not immediately returned.
