MILWAUKEE (WKOW) -- Marquette University is celebrating the 75th anniversary of "The Hobbit's" publication.

They are beginning the yearlong celebration with a lecture by renowned J.R.R. Tolkien scholar, John Rateliff on Wednesday afternoon. He will talk about how the Tolkien manuscripts came to reside at Marquette University.

The collection includes multiple working drafts for "The Hobbit" and "The Lord of the Rings," along with an original watercolor rendering by Tolkien of the dust cover for "The Hobbit" and Thor's map.

Marquette also has the original copy of the children's book "Mr. Bliss," which is written and illustrated by Tolkien.
