MADISON (WKOW) -- Customer service and phone centers at the DMV will be closed next week on Columbus Day.
The state Division of Motor Vehicles says all front-line customer service representatives will receive technical updates and training that day. Officials say they scheduled the training for Columbus Day because it's a federal holiday. Fewer customers tend to visit service centers on those days.
People can still access recorded information through the DMV's automated phone system and find information on the division's website.
Columbus Day is Monday, October 8.
