WALWORTH COUNTY (WKOW) -- Authorities are searching for an Illinois man who is wanted for aggravated domestic battery and kidnapping charges.
Walworth police responded to a residence on Williams Street in the Village of Walworth around 12:25 a.m. Monday for a suspicious vehicle parked in a driveway. Police say a 39-year-old woman and Harvard, Illinois resident was in the vehicle. She was injured and taken to a medical facility for treatment.
Less than an hour later, Harvard police responded to a Northfield Court address in an attempt to contact the woman's husband, 45-year-old Jose Enriquez-Hernandez.
Upon further investigation, police say the victim had been with her estranged husband at a Harvard, Illinois residence. Police say the victim was reportedly assaulted and battered at the residence sustaining head and facial injuries. Her husband then drove her to the Williams Street address in Walworth where she was found by herself in the vehicle.
Officials are actively investigating this incident, attempting to locate Enriquez-Hernandez, and seeking an arrest warrant for two counts of aggravated domestic battery and two counts of aggravated kidnapping.
Officials say Jose Enriquez-Hernandez may have a knife and should be considered armed and dangerous.
