WASHINGTON (WKOW) -- Milk prices could spike around the New Year if Congress doesn't act fast, according to a lawmaker.
Democratic Senator Chuck Schumer of New York says dairy prices could actually double if Congress doesn't pass the new farm bill soon. Congress did not take action on the bill before going on its 5-week election break.
Republican leaders in the House of Representatives have said they would not take action on the bill until after the November elections.
