ATLANTA (WKOW) -- The Weather Channel is going to start naming winter storms, the same way tropical storms and hurricanes are named.
The Weather Channel's winter weather expert says giving storms first names will raise the public's weather awareness and get more people to plan ahead.
The channel has already planned ahead, releasing a full, A to Z list of names for the winter of 2012-13; starting with Athena and ending with Zeus.
