MADISON (WKOW) -- The University of Wisconsin Board of Regents will meet Friday to see how it can boost enrollment at UW system schools.
Enrollment is down at several schools this year.
A UW system spokesman says more students are taking classes from online and for-profit universities.
Plus, the university anticipated enrollment declines because birthrates in Wisconsin decreased 17 to 18 years ago.
UW-River Falls took the biggest hit, with enrollment down 6% this year.
UW-Madison saw an enrollment increase of less than 1%.
