LA CROSSE (WKOW) -- The man who sent an email to a La Crosse TV news anchor criticizing her weight is speaking out.
In an exclusive interview with ABC News, Kenneth Krause says he is not a bully and was not trying to hurt WKBT-TV Anchor Jennifer Livingston's feelings when he sent her the now infamous email. In the email, Krause also said Livingston was not being a "suitable example" for the community's young people.
Livingston's on-air editorial response to him went viral earlier this week. Krause says he was only trying to spotlight the negative effects of obesity.
"It's possible that I could have revised a few things, but like I say, I never meant to hurt Jennifer in any way," Krause said. "If she is truly hurt, I do apologize for that."
Krause says he struggled with obesity when he was little and says he's been fighting with that all his life. He volunteered to work with Livingston to lose some weight. There's no word yet if she would accept that offer.
