
MILWAUKEE (WKOW) – A 6-year-old boy is dead after a house fire in Milwaukee early Saturday morning.
Milwaukee Fire Battalion Chief Sean Slowey said the fire started in one house and moved to the next. Slowey said both buildings were engulfed when firefighters arrived on scene shortly after 3:15 a.m.
Authorities said the young boy was found on a second floor.
According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, the Milwaukee police said a babysitter may have left food on the stove unattended. Three other children and the babysitter escaped unharmed.
Officials are still investigating the exact cause of the fire.
