MADISON (WKOW) -- Police say a female University of Wisconsin-Madison student was punched in the face while walking alone near campus early Saturday morning.
Officials say the 19-year-old student contacted police late Saturday afternoon to report a robbery that took place around 1:30 a.m. that morning.
Police say the student was walking alone on Regent Street near Park Street when a man punched her in the face and demanded that she give him her bag. The victim handed over her bag and the suspect ran away.
Officials say some of her property was later found and returned.
Madison police describe the suspect as a white man, between 18-22 years old, six feet tall, with muscular build, who was last seen wearing a dark-colored hoodie.
