
TOWN OF WESTPORT (WKOW) -- A Madison woman was killed Monday morning while biking near Governor Nelson State Park.
Around 11:30 a.m., Dane County Sheriff's deputies were called to County Highway M in the town of Westport.
They say a westbound truck veered off the road and hit a westbound bicyclist riding in the paved shoulder. The bicyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officials say the bicyclist is a 37-year-old woman from Madison. Her name has not been released.
The driver of the truck, Timothy Grulke, 21, of Waunakee, was not hurt. Deputies are still investigating why Grulke veered out of his travel lane.
