MADISON (WKOW) -- Neighborhoods on Madison's north and east sides are asking Dane County Executive Joe Parisi to do something about noise from the Dane County Regional Airport.
The association representing the Schenk, Atwood, Starkweather and Yahara neighborhoods sent recommendations to Parisi.
It's asking the airport to update its noise control strategy, improve oversight of that strategy and to have more planes depart and arrive from the north, rather than the south, where they're flying over the city.
The association pointed out that in its last noise impact study, the DCRA concluded more than 6,000 people lived in areas exceeding the noise standard set by the Federal Aviation Administration.
