MADISON (WKOW) -- Police say a Minnesota man who broke into the State Capitol through a fifth-floor window and was found unconscious on the dome's roof has been charged with felony criminal damage.
According to the Department of Administration, 21-year-old Andrew Bishop broke a window on the first floor of the State Capitol and entered the building on Sunday.
DOA officials say from the inside of the Capitol, Bishop went up to the fifth floor and broke several windows with a fire extinguisher and then went out onto the fourth floor roof top, which is located below the dome's observation deck. That's where Capitol Police arrested him.
The DOA says Bishop was treated for injuries and then booked into the Dane County Jail.
According to online court records, Bishop is charged with felony criminal damage and entry into a locked building.
Bishop will appear in Dane County Court for a preliminary hearing on October 18.
