LA CROSSE (WKOW) -- The day after the first vice presidential debate, Vice President Joe Biden will visit Wisconsin.
He'll speak Friday at the Cartwright Center on the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse campus.
UW-La Crosse chancellor Joe Gow says this is the first time a vice president will speak at the university.
He says it wasn't until he got the call about Biden's arrival that he realized the impact this would have on the university.
"You know I got the phone call Tuesday afternoon and that's the first I had heard this was gonna happen, and that's exciting," says Gow. "And then I had to stop and say 'Wow, this is also the day after the vice presidential debate, that makes it all the more special."'
Gow says he spoke with the Secret Service on Wednesday.
He says university security staff members are making sure everything is ready for Biden's arrival on Friday.
