Farmers help neighbor in need

Posted:

RACINE COUNTY (WKOW) -- A community of Racine County farmers came together for a special harvest this week.

They're taking care of the fields of their farming brothers.

On September 28th, a combine fell on top of Clayton and Russell Weis.

Clayton was killed and Russell was seriously injured.

That left their fields unattended.

So, about 40 to 50 farmers brought their combines and grain wagons to harvest for the brothers.

"The phone calls started coming in, they said what we can bring, got a list of equipment and people and trucks. We're all our own enterprise, but we're all in this together too," said Ken Uhlenhake, who organized the harvest.

Clayton Weis' children said they know how big the effort truly is and it means so much for the farmers to help out.
