Posted:

National Teen Driver Safety Week kicked off on Sunday and state Department of Transportation(DOT) officials are taking this time to remind families about some startling statistics.

Traffic crashes are the leading cause of death for teens both in Wisconsin and the nation, and 53 teens died in traffic crashes in Wisconsin last year.

Parents are asked to set a good example behind the wheel and encourage good decision making by their teen drivers.
