Man confesses to 6 Oconto County fires

OCONTO (WKOW) -- Officials say a 28-year-old Suring man has confessed to setting six fires in Oconto County, and he may be connected to more.

Investigators say Drew Christensen has been charged in a January garage fire and an August 2011 trailer home fire. Both were in the Town of Bagley.

Officials say no one was inside the garage or trailer home when the fires started.

But according to police documents, Christensen admitted to six fires altogether, including at two bars and a church. The criminal complaint says he also caused fires in other counties, but the specifics are not listed.

Oconto County District Attorney Jon Evans says the Department of Justice is investigating whether Christensen is responsible for any of the 40 unsolved fires in the area.
