WAUNAKEE (WKOW) -- A non-profit organization hit a big milestone on Sunday. "Food for Kidz" packed their one millionth meal.
The group puts together staples like rice and flour that are sent to families in need. Some are enjoyed right here in Wisconsin, others -- around the world.
"It's a great effort because it helps people in Dane County and around the world," says organizer Eric Juergens. "Some of the meals [Sunday], they'll go as far as El Salvador and Afghanistan."
More than 700 volunteers gathered in Waunakee Sunday. 75,000 of the meals they put together will stay in the area, distributed to families by Dane County Community Action Coalition.
