Wis. G.A.B settles ballot lawsuit with Romney Campaign

Posted:

MADISON (WKOW) -- The Wisconsin Government Accountability Board announced the settlement of a lawsuit filed last week by Republican Mitt Romney's campaign.

Republican Mitt Romney's campaign wanted more time for military and overseas voters in Wisconsin to return ballots that were sent past a federal deadline.

The board said it has issued an order to extend the time for ballots to be returned home in four municipalities because they sent the ballots out with less than the required 45 days of transit time.

Board Director Kevin Kennedy said only four ballots are affected and two of those have already been returned by voters.

Romney campaign spokesman Ryan Williams said the campaign is pleased with the outcome and it is unacceptable to have even one ballot sent in too late.
