MADISON (WKOW) -- Madison police officers were contacted Tuesday morning to a report of a battery inside a residence in the 900 block of High Street. 

The 29-year-old male told police he was attacked by a man who entered the residence through an unlocked door around 8:00 a.m.  Investigators say nothing was taken and they believe this was not a random crime.

The suspect is described as a white male in his mid 20's, approximately 6' - 6'2", curly brown hair, a broad nose, and a muscular build.

The victim was treated at an area hospital and released.
