WALWORTH COUNTY (WKOW) -- Officials are investigating a fatal one-vehicle crash in the Town of Whitewater.

The Walworth County Sheriff's Office says an 11-year-old Delavan girl died at the scene of a crash Wednesday night on Highway 89.

Officials were called to crash on Highway 89 south of Island Road in the Town of Whitewater around 6:15 p.m. Wednesday.

Authorities say upon arrival, deputies found a 2003 Nissan Sentra had left the highway and hit a utility pole with severe damage. The driver, a 17-year-old girl, was able to get out of the car.  Another 17-year-old girl and the 11-year-old girl were trapped with critical injuries and had to be extricated by emergency crews. The 11-year-old was in the back seat, and the 17-year-old was in the front passenger seat.

Officials say the 17-year-old passenger was extricated and flown by helicopter to a hospital with critical injuries. There's no word on her condition at this time.
