JANESVILLE (WKOW) – As the congressional race nears an end, U.S. Rep. Paul Ryan has more than four times the cash balance of Democratic challenger Rob Zerban.

As of last week, Ryan reports that he has just under $3 million in the bank. Figures posted on the Federal Election commission website show Ryan raised a total of $4.9 million from January to October 17.

Former Kenosha County board member Rob Zerban said over the same amount of time, his campaign raised $2.1 million. As of last week, Zerban had $666,000 cash on hand and $100,000 in debt.

Ryan is running for re-election of his congressional seat even as he's a vice presidential contender. If he wins both races he'll have to give up his House seat.
