MADISON (WKOW) -- Wednesday evening around 5:15 p.m., a Madison Police Officer and JBM Patrol & Protection Corporation were working on an assignment in the Straubel/Truax Neighborhood. Information had been passed along to them that Edlando M. Watson had an outstanding felony warrant for his arrest. Previous attempts to locate Watson had been unsuccessful.
While in the area, Watson appeared. Officers made contact with him and when the question of whether or not he was in possession of a weapon was posed, Watson ran.
The officers caught up to Watson at a residence near Wright and Anderson Streets. The JBM Officer threatened to use a taser to gain compliance of Watson, who was then taken into custody. Police located a loaded 357 Magnum a short distance away from Watson, along with a host of drugs including cocaine, marijuana and heroin.
Charges against Watson include: possession of a firearm, possession with intent to deliver (THC, marijuana, heroin), resisting a police officer, bail jumping (felony offense), domestic criminal damage to property warrant, and domestic disorderly conduct warrant.
