Oregon boys soccer team falls in state quarterfinal

MILWAUKEE (WKOW) -- Oregon's first trip to the WIAA boys state soccer tournament since 1998 ended earlier than the Panthers would have liked, falling 1-0 to Kenosha Bradford in a Division 1 state quarterfinal on Thursday at Uihlein Soccer Park.

The Red Devils' Zach Reget used some fancy footwork to score in the 21st minute and put Kenosha Bradford on top.

Oregon had a few chances to tie it up but failed to do so. Still, it was a fine season for the Panthers.

"It's a growing experience, just like any loss is," Oregon senior midfielder Scott Odorico said. "You can always learn from it. I think that's what Coach May is going to do. It's my last game here at Oregon, but I think they've got some good guys coming up."

"I'm absolutely very proud of [this team]. We came together as a team and made something happen this year. It's a pretty special group of kids, just not the way we wanted to go out," coach Kevin May said.
