
JEFFERSON COUNTY (WKOW) – A 76-year-old Watertown man dies in a two vehicle crash on Highway 16 in the Town of Ixonia Thursday morning.
Jefferson County Sheriff's Office responded to two vehicle crash around 9:29 a.m. at the Wisconsin Avenue exit off of Highway 16 that involved a car and a medical transport van.
Authorities initial investigation found that the transport van was exiting the off ramp to Wisconsin Avenue when the driver stated the accelerator stuck. The van continued through the intersection, over a median and struck a car. The van continued into the ditch and rolled over.
Officials said the driver of the car had no injuries. A passenger in the van, David Pipken from Watertown, was taken to Froedtert Hospital by Flight for Life. Authorities said 76-year-old Pipken later passed away due to injuries. The driver of the van and other passenger had minor injuries.
The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said the crash is still under investigation.
