Update: Shots fired in parking lot near Beltline


MADISON (WKOW) – Madison police are investigating a disturbance in a parking lot where two shots were fired early Sunday morning.

Police said the incident happened around 3:20 a.m. on the 1400 block of Damon Road.

Authorities said the shots were fired in a business parking lot.  A vehicle was observed leaving a neighboring parking lot and was stopped a short distance away.

Police searched the car and said they found a .45 caliber handgun in the back seat where a passenger had been sitting.

Madison Police said there have been no report of injuries from the shots fired.


MADISON (WKOW) – Dane County Communications confirmed gun shots were fired at a Perkins early Sunday morning.

According to Dane County Communications, officers were called to investigate a battery and then shots were fired.  The incident happened around 3:30 a.m. on the 1400 block of Damon road.

Dane County Communications said no one was injured and a few individuals have been detained.

There is no further information about the incident at this time.
