Madison school board approves budget

Posted:

MADISON (WKOW) -- The Madison school board finalized its 2012-2013 budget Monday night.

The tax levy is going up, but not as much as expected.

The budget increases taxes by just under 2 percent, which is down more than 3 percent from the preliminary budget.

The district says the tax levy amounts to about $8 on the average home.

The board was able to provide the tax relief because the district received $15 million more than it expected from the state.
