Edgewater Hotel developers seeking federal funding

Posted:

MADISON (WKOW) -- The developers of the Edgewater Hotel are seeking federal funding to help with its redevelopment.

They're asking for more than $66 million from the Public Finance Authority, which was established in 2009 to encourage redevelopment in counties impacted by flooding in 2008 that included Dane County.

The program doesn't use any public funding and the city of Madison has no obligation for any debt.

Edgewater developers are planning a $98 million renovation of the hotel that's expected to be completed in the spring of 2014.
