TOWN OF ARENA (WKOW) -- Officials are investigating a fatal car versus horse crash in Iowa County.
The Iowa County Sheriff's Department was called to an accident shortly after 6:30 a.m. Wednesday morning.
Officials say the accident happened on County Road C, just east of High Point Road, in the Town of Arena. Police say 53-year-old Joan Hook, of Arena, was driving west on County Road C when her vehicle hit two horses standing in the lane. Hook died at the scene.
Authorities say both horses did not survive following the crash. The owners of the horses are Eric Brown and Susan Dietlein-Brown, of Arena.
