UPDATE: 3 Madison-area gas stations robbed within 6 hours


MADISON (WKOW) -- Madison police say two Saturday morning robberies at gas stations are related.

The PDQ store on the 2400-block of W. Broadway was robbed just after 7:00 a.m. According to police, the suspect displayed a small handgun and fled on foot.

About three hours later, the suspect appeared at the Mobil Gas station on the 2800-block of Atwood Avenue. Police say he waited for customer to leave and then approached the clerk and demanded him to turn over cash. No weapon was displayed but the suspect implied he had a gun.

No shots were fired in either incidents and no one was injured.


MADISON (WKOW) – Madison Police confirm that three Madison area gas stations were robbed within six hours on Saturday.

Police confirmed the first armed robbery happened around 5 a.m. Saturday morning at a PDQ gas station on the 6000 block of McKee Road in Fitchburg.

The clerk told police that a male subject entered the store, displayed a handgun and demanded money.

Authorities said the male suspect fled the scene on foot with an undisclosed amount of money.  Police described the suspect as a black male, between the ages of 30-40, about 160 pounds and six feet tall.

Police said he was wearing a green jacket with a black hooded sweatshirt under the coat, a black stocking cap and had a distinctive mole on his right cheek.

Madison Police said the second armed robbery happened at a PDQ gas station around 7:06 a.m. Saturday morning on the 2400 block of West Broadway.  Police said the suspect displayed a small handgun and fled on foot from the scene.

Police said the third and most recent armed robbery happened at a Mobile gas station around 11:01 a.m. on the 2800 block of Atwood Avenue. According to Madison dispatch, the suspect was seen wearing a black hat, black coat and left on foot behind the gas station.  Authorities said the suspect implied he had a gun but did not display the weapon.  Police continue to search for the suspect.

Madison Police said there is no more information at this time and no injuries have been reported. Authorities have not said if the three robberies are related.
