Mark Pocan wins seat in U.S. House

MADISON (WKOW) -- Mark Pocan wins the 2nd Congressional seat in the U.S. House.

The Democrat defeated Republican Chad Lee to take the Madison-area race, keeping Tammy Baldwin's vacated seat with Democrats. Pocan has been a state Representative for nearly 14 years.

Baldwin left the seat she occupied since 1998 to run for Wisconsin's U.S. Senate. She's running against Republican Tommy Thompson.

Lee thanked his family, friends and supporters at his election party after the race was called. During a concession speech he said, "The fights not over, we've got a lot of things that we still need to work on."
