MADISON (WKOW) -- Lawmakers respond to the results of Election Day.
Governor Scott Walker released the following statement Tuesday night regarding the election of new majorities to the state legislature:
"The election of new majorities to the state legislature is good news for the hard working taxpayers. I look forward to working with members of both parties to grow our economy and create jobs."
OSHKOSH (WKOW) -- Senator Ron Johnson released the following statement on Tammy Baldwin's win to the U.S. Senate:
"I congratulate Tammy Baldwin on her election victory. I stand ready to collaborate with Senator-elect Baldwin to help Wisconsinites grapple with federal red tape, promote our great state, and develop real solutions to address the many challenges facing America."
He released this statement regarding President Obama's win:
"Americans have spoken, and although I am disappointed with the result, I do hope the Obama administration will reverse its course of growing government and spending trillions of dollars we don't have. Instead of four more years of shutting out ideas to grow the private sector and create jobs, the Obama administration should put our economy first and reach across the aisle to pass effective pro-growth policies. America's economic future is at risk and our children's future is being mortgaged. I am prepared to work with anyone that understands this problem and who is willing to work in good faith to find lasting solutions."
