High voter turnout in Wisconsin

MADISON (WKOW) -- High voter turnout numbers were reported in Wisconsin.

According to the Wisconsin State Journal, late in the day on Tuesday, it appeared more than 70 percent of Wisconsin's 4.8 million eligible voters would cast ballots. That would place Tuesday's voting among the top four turnouts for presidential elections in Wisconsin history.

Voter turnout was high in Rock County. Large volumes of absentee, early voting combined with heavy turnout at the polls made for a very busy night.

According to Rock County, this year 81,420 ballots were cast county-wide. There are 120,513 eligible voters in Rock County and more than 93,000 were registered as of 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday. Rock County says this is a new record for ballots cast, since 1992.
