MADISON (WKOW) -- Believe it or not, the holiday shopping season has begun And it's time to help local children in need, through the Toys for Tots campaign.
Every child deserves to see presents under the tree and Madison Marines are hoping to make that happen through the campaign.
The mission of the Toys for Tots program is to collect new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year, and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to needy children in the community.
There are many locations in the area you can drop off toys, including at WKOW-TV. To see the full list click here.
If you would like to receive toys, the deadline to apply is Friday, November 16.
If you live in Dane County, please contact the Dane County Salvation Army "Christmas Hotline" at 608-250-2245.
If you live in Rock County, please contact the Rock County Salvation Army and ask for Ruth Fay at 608-757-8300 ext. 25.
On 27 News at 5 we will be joined by Staff Sgt. Edward Vinogroski to discuss how the program works and how you can get involved.
