Partially buried dog found in Madison park

MADISON (WKOW) -- Local health officials are trying to find information about a dead dog found partially buried in a city park.

Public Health Madison & Dane County says the dog was found October 27 in Acewood Park near the bike path off of Leo Drive. It was found by a man who was walking his dog.

The dog is described as medium to large in size, mainly black with some brown in color and was wearing a collar but no tags.

Officials say it appears the dog was buried some time ago and was partially wrapped in a sheet.

Anyone with information about the animal is asked to call the Police and Fire dispatcher at 255-2345 and ask for the animal services officer.
