MANITOWOC (WKOW) -- They've been a landmark in Wisconsin, but now they're gone.
The Budweiser banners that marked the Manitowoc skyline for years have come down.
The new owners of the old plant had until the end of the year to remove the signs.
Because the plant no longer makes beer products, city ordinance forced them to come down.
Some say the city just won't be the same.
"It's too bad, it really is. What they're going to end up with I don't know yet. But it's going to be interesting to find out," says resident John Salzman.
The banners are property of Anheuser-Busch, so they're on their way to St. Louis.
