Two killed in Richland County crash

RICHLAND COUNTY (WKOW) -- A husband and wife from rural Richland County were killed in a crash on Friday.

The Richland County Sheriff's Department says the crash happened after 4 p.m. Friday on State Highway 80 at County Trunk Highway AA about two miles north of Richland Center.

Sheriff Darrell Berglin says a truck hit another vehicle head-on and one of the vehicles landed on its top.

Berglin says Stephen Rowland, 70, and Nina Rowland, 57, of the Town of Orion were pronounced dead at the scene.

63-year-old Lonnie Kreeger, 63, of Richland Center was taken to the hospital.

Berglin says alcohol was not a factor in the crash. Deputies are continuing to review evidence and conduct interviews about the crash.
