
Facebook PhotoMADISON (WKOW) -- Authorities have released the name of the man police say was shot by a Madison officer early Friday morning.
The Dane County Medical Examiner's Office has identified the victim as Paul Heenan, 30, of Madison. Authorities say he died of firearm related trauma. Additional testing is underway.
Heenan was shot and killed after a confrontation with a police officer who responded to a reports of a burglary on the 300-block of South Baldwin Street at 2:45 a.m. Friday.
Police say the officer is on administrative leave following the shooting.
